The global secondhand apparel market will grow by nine times as compared to the broader retail clothing, according to ThredUp. Majority of Gen-Z shoppers prefer to buy sustainable brands and are most willing to spend 10% more on sustainable products, according to Forbes. More recently, widespread unemployment and economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic should favor secondhand sales as consumers look to save money.
